African Safaris

An African safari in Kenya offers an unforgettable adventure through some of the world’s most iconic wildlife landscapes. From the vast savannahs of the Maasai Mara to the dramatic views of Mount Kilimanjaro from Amboseli National Park, Kenya provides a diverse and thrilling experience for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

The journey typically begins in Nairobi, the capital city, before heading into the wilderness. The Maasai Mara is perhaps the most famous destination, especially during the Great Migration when millions of wildebeest and zebras cross from Tanzania’s Serengeti into Kenya, closely followed by predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas. Game drives in open-roof vehicles offer close-up views of the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino.

Amboseli National Park is known for its large elephant herds and stunning vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro, while Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for its pink flocks of flamingos and endangered black and white rhinos. Samburu National Reserve in the north offers a different landscape and rare species such as the Grevy’s zebra and the reticulated giraffe.

On our last trip we saw every type of animal and a ton of birds in an eight day stay.

Beyond wildlife, a Kenyan safari includes cultural encounters with local communities, such as the Maasai and Samburu people, who share their traditions, dances, and way of life. Many safari lodges and camps are eco-friendly and located in private conservancies, allowing for intimate wildlife experiences and night game drives.

Whether witnessing a lion hunt at dawn, watching elephants bathe at a waterhole, or enjoying a sundowner in the bush, a Kenyan safari delivers breathtaking moments and deep connections with nature. It’s not just a vacation, but a journey into the heart of Africa — rich with wildlife, culture, and raw beauty that leaves a lasting impression.
